Cardinal Respighi had been created Cardinal by Pope Leo XIII in 1899 and served as Cardinal Vicar of Rome from 1900 until his death in 1913.

Dimensions of the theca: 3 × 2.5 cm.

Saint Jude Thaddeus the Apostle

Saint Jude Thaddeus the Apostle, one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus Christ, is traditionally identified as Jude, also called Thaddeus, and is distinguished from Judas Iscariot.

Christian tradition associates him with missionary preaching in Judea, Syria, Mesopotamia and Persia, where he is traditionally believed to have suffered martyrdom together with Saint Simon the Zealot.

Saint Jude is traditionally associated with the Epistle of Jude in the New Testament. Venerated throughout the Christian world, he became especially renowned as the patron saint of desperate and seemingly impossible causes.

His relics have been venerated for centuries in Rome, particularly in Saint Peter’s Basilica.

The Reliquary

All original threads and ecclesiastical seals remain intact. The relic is accompanied by its original Authentica, dated 1911, preserving the integrity and documented ecclesiastical provenance of this exceptional ensemble.
