The relics are preserved beneath the original crystal within a finely crafted sterling silver theca. The reverse remains secured by its original silk threads and intact episcopal wax seal, confirming that the reliquary has never been opened since its official ecclesiastical authentication.

Accompanying the reliquary is its original Authentica, issued in 1870 by Cardinal Carlo Luigi Morichini, Archbishop of Jesi, providing complete ecclesiastical provenance and canonical authentication according to the regulations of the Catholic Church.

Saint Paul and Saint Juliana – Martyrs of Palestine

The relics belong to Saint Paul and Saint Juliana, early Christian martyrs who suffered for their faith in Palestine around the year 270, during one of the periods of persecution that afflicted the Church before the Edict of Milan.

Created Cardinal by Pope Pius IX, Morichini served as Archbishop of Jesi and held the prestigious title of Cardinal-Priest of Sant'Onofrio in Rome. Throughout his distinguished ecclesiastical career he occupied numerous important administrative and diplomatic positions within the Papal States and earned a reputation for his scholarship, prudence, and unwavering loyalty to the Holy See.

As Archbishop, Cardinal Morichini possessed the canonical authority to examine, authenticate, and seal sacred relics intended for public veneration. Every authenticated relic was enclosed within an official theca, secured with silk threads, protected by his episcopal wax seal, and accompanied by an official document certifying its authenticity.
