Baroque - reliquary (one of 4) with huge parts of the relics of Saints Zechariah - Father of John the Baptist (top), St. Elizabeth - Mother of John the Baptist (center) + St. John the Baptist (bottom) + cardinal's document.
The reliquaries belonged to the family of the Princes de Bovo Craon at the Château d'Arouet (ruling family of Lorraine). The carved reliquary is carved from a single piece of wood and even the back is carved in a semicircle from a single piece of wood. Gilding, silvering. The reliquary has not only sacred, but also museum value. Reliquary from the 18th century, although the last post certification of the Relics was in the 1840s by Cardinal Patrici. In the RCC, post-certification of relics is sometimes carried out due to the dilapidation of authenticity: old age and unreadability of the document, dilapidation of threads, etc. Judging by the appearance, the reliquaries have not been restored; for almost 300 years, they are in very good condition.
The height of the reliquary is 56 cm, the width at the widest part is 24 cm.
Document - 35 cm x 29 cm.
