“Josephus-Alfridus Foulon, Dei gratia et auctoritate Sanctae Sedis Apostolicae Episcopus Nanceiensis et Tullensis, Lotharingiae Primas.”
Issued in Nancy (Nanceii) and dated 1871.
FeaturesJoseph-Alfred Foulon (1823–1893) later became Archbishop of Lyon and Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church. Documents issued during his episcopate in Nancy are of particular interest to collectors of Catholic church history and 19th-century manuscripts.
Good antique condition with normal fold marks and light age toning. The embossed diocesan seal remains clearly visible.
