A precious 19th-century sterling silver reliquary theca containing a significant relic ex ossibus (from the bones) of Saint Demetrius of Thessaloniki, one of the most venerated soldier-martyrs of the early Church. The relic is sealed behind glass with its original red wax episcopal seal, ensuring authenticity and integrity, and accompanied by the official authenticity document (authentica) issued in 1844, signed and sealed by Archbishop Stephanus Missir, Vicar General under Pope Gregory XVI.

The reliquary case is crafted in sterling silver with devotional symbols. On the reverse, it is decorated with traditional Christian iconography including the Marian monogram and cross, adding devotional and artistic value.

Saint Demetrius of Thessaloniki (d. 306 AD) was a Christian martyr and military officer of the Roman Empire, executed during the persecutions of Emperor Galerius. He is the patron saint of Thessaloniki, revered throughout the Orthodox and Catholic world as a powerful protector and intercessor.
