Dimensions: Diameter 3.8 cm

Saint Anastasia of Smyrna is honored as one of the early Christian martyrs, a virgin who bore witness to her steadfast faith in Christ during the time of persecution. Smyrna (modern-day İzmir, Turkey) was a major city of early Christianity, known as the home of great saints and martyrs such as Polycarp, and it became a center of courage and witness for the faith.

Anastasia, whose name means “Resurrection,” is remembered for her purity, courage, and unshakable devotion to Christ. According to tradition, she suffered imprisonment, torture, and ultimately martyrdom for refusing to renounce her faith or sacrifice to pagan gods. In her steadfastness, she embodied the Christian virtues of patience, hope, and love, becoming a model for all who would endure trials for the sake of the Gospel.

Her cult developed widely in the East, where she was revered as one of the holy virgins who gave their lives for Christ. The memory of her sacrifice became linked to the witness of the Church in Asia Minor, a region marked by some of the most heroic testimonies of the early centuries.

Saint Anastasia of Smyrna is invoked as a patroness of purity, courage in trials, and fidelity to Christ. Her relics were treasured across Christendom, serving as tangible connections to her holy life and sacrificial death.

Owning a relic of Saint Anastasia is not only to possess a piece of sacred history but also to share in the living tradition of the Church, which continues to venerate the martyrs as intercessors and examples of ultimate devotion.
