In stockExquisite 19th Century Reliquary with the Sacred Relics of Saint Cornelius the Centurion, Martyr
with original episcopal authentication document, 1866
A magnificent devotional artifact, this antique reliquary enshrines a significant fragment of the holy relics of Saint Cornelius the Centurion, one of the earliest Roman converts and martyrs of the Christian faith. The relic is preserved within a beautifully ornamented, gilded Baroque-style reliquary (dimensions: 12 x 9 cm, thickness 2 cm), resting on rich red silk and labeled "S. Cornelii Centur."
The back is secured with original 19th-century episcopal wax seals, fully intact, attesting to the authenticity and sacred origin of the relic. Accompanied by a rare episcopal certificate (authentica) dated 1866, issued by Archbishop Aloysius M. Cardelli, this precious item stands as a tangible connection to the early Church and the heroic witness of its martyrs.
A remarkable piece for any serious collector of sacred relics, ecclesiastical history, or devotional art.
